Project meeting at the Główny Instytut Górnictwa in Katowice

The second project meeting since the kick-off of i³upgrade took place from 25^th to 26^th February 2019. The attendees met at the Główny Instytut Górnictwa (Central Mining Institute, GIG) in Katowice, Poland to discuss the latest progress achieved in the ongoing tasks. In addition to the technical discussions, the partners talked about organizational issues and set the further course of action.

Apart from presentations and discussions, the organizers from GIG arranged a trip to the experimental mine ‘Barbara’. First the participants got a tour of different test facilities (e.g. for underground coal gasification). Afterwards they experienced a coal dust explosion as a special highlight.
